Craft for Charity: a Dolly Drive for Haitian Orphans (Part 2)
Meet the Flower sisters. Irene is telling her sisters, Esther and Suzy*, all about the orphans in Haiti who need their hugs and love. Soon, Irene and her sisters will be making their trip to the Abundant Ground Foundation, meeting up with other doll friends, then traveling to Haiti to meet their new families.
If you can sew a semi-straight line, consider making a doll for the Dolly Donations drive. Your doll need not be perfect, just made by hand and, most importantly, made with love. The easy peasy pattern helps, too.
The deadline is fast approaching, so sew! Sew like the wind!
* I named the dolls after my aunties. And yes, Irene ended up with the best eyes, but I ran out of fabric and yet wanted to finish them a.s.a.p.
Oh, my gosh! These are so cute and such a great idea for children in Haiti. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! I've been hand-sewing for so long, but it was fun to try and use the sewing machine. A little crooked, but still cute, I think. (I hope! LOL)
ReplyDeleteThey are lovely Vee! Thank you so much, i can't wait to show them to the DD community!
ReplyDeleteHey there, Sarah! I just emailed you! Peace and blessings to ya.
ReplyDeleteI think I could make an eye...as for the rest of the doll, there's just no way!
ReplyDeleteLove your dollies, though. They are tres magnifique! And the cause is even better. :)
That's awesome!
ReplyDeleteGreat you found your own personal way to help. It's a blessing when we can use your talents to help others.
Hope you and the kids are doing well
